MOHO NORD

Located approximately 75 kilometers from Pointe-Noire and 25 kilometers west of N’Kossa in water depths ranging from 450 to 1,200 meters, the Moho Nord project will target additional reserves in the southern part of the license (Phase 1bis) and new reserves in the northern part (Moho Nord). The additional reserves are estimated at approximately 485 million barrels of oil equivalent. The development comprises a total of 28 subsea wellheads tied back to floating production units (FPUs) and with 17 more wells from a new tension leg platform (TLP). At the end, the project would have a production capacity of 140,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d).

ICHTHYS

Offshore, INPEX intends to install a floating central processing facility (CPF) to develop the Ichthys Field. The greater part of the condensate will be transferred from the field via a subsurface pipeline to a nearby floating production, storage and offtake (FPSO) facility where it will be treated and transferred to offtake tankers. Natural gas will then be directed from the field through an approximately 889‑km‑long gas export pipeline to the onshore facilities at Blaydin Point on Middle Arm Peninsula in Darwin Harbour for processing into LNG and LPGs. A small percentage of the condensate will also be sent to Blaydin Point via the gas export pipeline and shipped from Darwin after treatment. The cost of the project is estimated at 34bn USD.

The most likely resource estimates of the Ichthys Field are 12.8 trillion cubic feet of natural gas and 527 million barrels of condensate. The Project is expected to produce 8.4 Mt of LNG and 1.6 Mt of liquefied petroleum gases (LPGs) per annum. It will also produce an estimated 100 000 barrels of condensate per day at peak.

    KAOMBO

    The Kaombo offshore project currently in development in Angola is based on the use of the innovative and cost efficient “hybrid loop” technology for transport f fluids.

    Total is operator with a 30% interest on Block 32. The other partners are Sonangol Pesquisa & Produção (30%), China Sonangol Petroleum (20%), Esso(15%), and Galp (5%).

    The Kaombo project will be the block’s first development. Plans call for the production of several oil deposits scattered among the Gindungo, Gengibre, Canela, Mostarda, Louro, and Caril fields in the central and southeastern sections of the ultra-deep offshore block, in a area of 800 km2 and water depths of 1,400 to 1,950 meters.

    The development plan comprises the conversion of two VLCCs*  into turret moored Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessels, connected to one of the biggest subsea networks in the world with more than 600 KM2 to produce 115,000 barrels per day (b/d) each.

    A flagship project in a country of strategic importance for Total, Kaombo will secure the sustainable growth of Angola’s offshore resources through the mastery of state-of-the art technologies.

    Kaombo will mark a turning point in Total’s local presence and industrial partnership with Angola, with an unprecedented level of local content.

    YAMAL LNG

    The South-Tambeyskoye field, located at the Yamal Peninsula, is currently one of the most important development project of the Arctic area. It comprises the construction of an LNG plant as well as a drilling plan of 208 wells, for an overall budget of USD 27 billion. This field was discovered in 1974 and a license for exploration and production has been issued with validity until 2045.

    At the St Petersburg Economic forum in 2013 it was decided that the main export market for the LNG produced at Yamal would be China. Several months later CNPC (20%) has joined the shareholder structure already formed by NOVATEK (60%) and Total (20%). The launch of the first LNG train is now planned for the end of 2017 together with 2 additional LNG trains (respectively in 2019 and 2021) which will bring the annual capacity of production to 16.5 million tons per year.

    For the construction of the 3 LNG plants it was decided to adopt an architecture with modules being built in Asia. For the supervision of the 8 Yards fabricants and the EPC work, we are glad that in August 2014, Yamal LNG has chosen ANOTECH Energy among its preferred service providers in China, Indonesia and the Philippines.

    JAZAN (ARAMCO OVERSEAS)

    The decision to build a refinery in Jazan was first announced back in 2006 as part of the Jazan industrial city project which aims to industralise Saudi Arabia’s Jazan province located in the South West of the country, close to the border with Yemen. The refinery will be capable of processing 250,000 to 400,000 barrels of Arabian crudes to manufacture gasoline, ultra-low-sulfur diesel and fuel oil, depending on the crude mix processed. It is envisioned that the completed refinery will ultimately be integrated with a future nearby world-scale power and water facility. The marine terminal will enable the refinery to receive Very Large Crude carriers for the supply of crude and will have berths to support the product exports thereof.

    WEST & EAST HUB (ENI)

    Exploration activities yielded positive results in 2013 with the Mpungi 4 oil discovery. Subsequent findings in Block 15 /06 will be developed as part of the two projects, West Hub and East Hub.

    The West Hub project originally involved the development of the Sangos, N’Goma and Cinguvu discoveries, to which the important findings of Mpungi and Vandumbu findings will be added in two stages, making a total of approximately 200 million barrels of oil.

    The East Hub project foresees the production of the Cabaça North and South-East discoveries. The findings will be developed in different phases, the first phase foresees the development of Cabaça SE and the drilling of 10 subsea wells and the installation of an FPSO vessel with a capacity of 80 thousand barrels/day. The final investment decision was approved by Eni in November 2013.

    Peak production is estimated at around 17,000 barrels/day net to Eni.
